SEObot vs Outrank: Autopilot Blogging Tools Compared Side by Side

20 October 2026. Written by Helio.

Pick SEObot if you want a blog-only autopilot that connects to almost any CMS and you are happy to switch on review yourself. Pick Outrank if you want more articles for the same money and are comfortable with its credit-based backlink exchange. Choose neither if you need every draft checked by default or want links that do not come from a swap network. The rest of this comparison explains why.

The quick comparison

Both tools do the same broad job: scan your site, pick keywords, write articles and publish them without you lifting a finger. The differences sit in price per article, platform support, approval defaults and backlinks.

How SEObot vs Outrank pick topics

According to BlazeHive, SEObot's agent handles the entire pipeline for blog articles only: site crawl, competitor research, keyword selection, article writing, internal linking, image generation and publishing, with no other page types and no technical SEO or backlinks. That narrow focus is either reassuring or limiting, depending on what you expected.

Outrank's All-in-One plan includes automated keyword research alongside the writing, and its own page claims unlimited keyword research. In practice both tools choose topics from search data about your site and competitors. Neither, as described in these sources, checks whether AI assistants such as ChatGPT name your business, so topic choice rests on keyword research alone.

For a small local business, the honest test is simple: look at the first ten suggested topics from each. If they are questions your customers really ask, the tool understands you. If they are generic industry filler, more articles will not fix that.

Publishing and platform support

RankPine reports that SEObot syncs to a dozen CMSs including WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Ghost, Notion and HubSpot, plus Zapier and Make. If your site runs on Ghost or HubSpot, that alone may settle it.

Outrank's plan, per The SaaS Operator, includes integrations with WordPress, Webflow, Shopify and Framer alongside 30 auto-published articles per month. Framer users get native support SEObot is not listed as offering in these sources.

Thirty articles a month is a lot for a small site. It is worth asking whether you can realistically read that many, a point covered in how many blog posts it takes before you see SEO results.

Approval: who checks the drafts?

This is where small businesses get caught out. SEOTakeoff notes that SEObot's human review workflow is opt-in moderation, with publish-first being the default setting. Unless you change it, articles go live before anyone reads them.

Outrank's answer is different: its comparison page lists an optional human-curated editing service. That is someone else checking, not you, and it is an add-on rather than a built-in approval queue.

Rule of thumb: whichever tool you choose, switch on review for the first month. A wrong price, a service you do not offer or an invented claim published under your name costs more than the time it takes to read a draft.

Outrank's backlink exchange, explained plainly

Backlinks are links from other websites to yours. Google treats them as a vote of confidence, so tools that promise them are attractive. Outrank's version works on credits.

As Aboah Reviews describes it, users earn credits by hosting backlinks from other users in their articles and spend credits to get backlinks placed in other users' articles, with higher Domain Rating sites earning more credits per hosted link and credits resetting daily. Domain Rating is a third-party score of how strong a site's own links are.

In practice that means three things:

  • Your articles will contain links out to other Outrank users' sites, which may have nothing to do with your trade.
  • Links into your site come from other Outrank users' articles, chosen by the system rather than earned on merit.
  • A new small site with a low rating earns fewer credits, so it gets less from the network than an established one.

The risk is the one that applies to any link swap. Google's spam policies treat excessive link exchanges, links placed mainly to manipulate rankings, as a problem. Outrank calls its network verified, and nobody outside Google can say exactly where the line falls. A cautious owner can simply leave the exchange switched off, or choose a tool without one.

A link you earned because someone wanted to cite you is worth more than ten you traded for.

Price per article

Swetrix lists SEObot's official pricing as $49/month for 9 articles, $99/month for 20 articles and $199/month for 50 articles. RankPine's Outrank review puts the All-in-One plan at $99 per month, or $999 annually, for 30 articles plus keyword research, images, the backlink network and unlimited users.

Outrank's own comparison page makes the obvious point: at $99 you get 30 articles versus SEObot's 20. True, but remember it is the vendor's page. Cheaper per article only matters if you want that volume. SEObot's $49 plan is the lower entry point for a site that needs a couple of posts a week. Both charge in US dollars, so UK buyers will see the cost move with the exchange rate.

Which one should you choose?

  • Choose SEObot if your site runs on a less common CMS, you want the cheapest entry plan and you will switch on moderation.
  • Choose Outrank if you are on WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or Framer, want high volume, and have weighed the link exchange.
  • Choose neither if you want approval on by default, no link swapping, or proof that the articles get you named in AI answers.

Where Helio SEO fits in

Helio SEO sits in the "neither" column: every draft waits for approval unless you switch on automatic publishing, it refuses link networks and exchanges in favour of journalist requests, and it checks whether AI assistants name your business, then writes to close the gaps. It costs from £29 a month, with 7 days free and no card. If SEObot or Outrank matches the way you work, either is a reasonable pick.

Common questions about SEObot and Outrank

Is Outrank's backlink exchange against Google's rules?

Outrank's backlink exchange is a credit-based link swap between its users. Google's spam policies warn against excessive link exchanges intended to manipulate rankings, so there is some risk. Nobody outside Google can say exactly how a given network is treated. Owners who want to avoid the question entirely can leave the exchange switched off.

Can I stop SEObot publishing articles automatically?

SEObot offers human review as opt-in moderation, but publish-first is the default setting. To read SEObot articles before they go live, you need to switch moderation on in your settings. Doing that from the first day is sensible, because a draft containing a wrong detail about your business is far easier to fix before publishing than after.

Do SEObot and Outrank work on Wix?

Wix is not named in the integration lists reported for either tool. SEObot connects to a dozen CMSs plus Zapier and Make, which may offer a workaround, while Outrank lists WordPress, Webflow, Shopify and Framer. Wix site owners should confirm support directly with each vendor before paying for a plan.
